TRADITIONAL SOUTH INDIAN FILTER METHOD

Add powder

Add 2 heaped spoons of coffee powder into the upper chamber of your filter.

Press & pour

Press gently with the disc. Pour hot water slowly over the powder. Close the lid.

Wait

Allow the decoction to drip slowly into the lower chamber — 15 to 20 minutes.

Serve

Pour decoction into a tumbler. Add hot milk and sugar or Coorgam Honey to taste.

  • Use freshly boiled water — water at 90 to 95°C gives the best extraction from the powder

  • Press the powder gently — too tight and the water won’t drip through. Too loose and the decoction will be weak

  • Close the filter lid while dripping — keeps the heat in and gives a richer, fuller decoction

  • Do not reuse spent powder — the second brew is always weak and sour. Use fresh powder every time

  • Store in a cool, dry place — keep the pack closed tightly after every use to preserve freshness and aroma

  • Best consumed within 60 days of opening — freshly ground coffee loses its aroma over time
